OK Cut

Help

From an exported file to notes on the exact frame, in a few minutes.

Your first cut

  1. Start a workspace. Sign in at okcut.app/welcome, name your workspace and pick a plan. Then name your first team (the client) and project (the production).
  2. Add the cut. Drop the exported file anywhere on the project page, or use Add cut. A link works too: YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive (shared so anyone with the link can view it).
  3. Keep working while it goes up. A tray shows each file. Files that are already a review copy go up as they are; anything else your browser can read becomes a 1080p review copy right in your browser, as it uploads. Keep the tab open until the tray says it’s done.
  4. Share it. Use Share on the project: invite people by email, or turn on the link so anyone who has it can watch and leave notes. Add a password or an end date if you like.

Exporting a review copy

OK Cut plays H.264 MP4 up to 1080p. Files at about 6 Mbps or less go up exactly as they are; heavier ones are made lighter in your browser. Masters (ProRes, DNxHD) are too big to review online: export a review copy first.

Versions

Name files the way you already do: “Parte 3 v5” lands on top of “Parte 3 v4” as its next version, and earlier versions stay one click away. Open notes from an earlier version follow their shot into the new one, and Compare shows two versions side by side.

Notes

Hours online

Your plan counts the length of each cut while its video is online. A cut nobody watches or notes for 90 days goes offline by itself, with a warning the week before; its notes stay. Make room in Settings › Plan takes older versions offline when you need space.
